Illinois Amish Country is all about the family.

Two of the main tenets of Amish life around Arthur are faith... and family. Keeping a family close keeps the Amish community together.

A visit to Arthur and Illinois Amish Country is a great experience for the whole family. There are plenty of animals to delight the young folk, a glimpse into another culture for those whose education is still expanding their world, and shopping, relaxation and good food for all.

Spend a couple of days together, as a family, and rediscover a simpler time that still exists around Arthur, yet today. We have a number of suggested itineraries that are perfect for a family outing and are more than happy to design a special visit that perfectly fits your family group.

Illinois Amish Country doesn't offer the fast pace of waterslides and roller coasters, but neither does it tax your pocketbook to let you find time to spend as a family. Laughing together over an ice cream cone, together, on a bench, relaxing and talking are memory builders. Listening to the street musician pick out a tune while the clip-clop of a buggy which passes by marks the cadence of your visit, rather than long lines for a 3 minute thrill ride and a $55 lunch for 4. Yes, we have a large number of "festival weekends" with faster paced activities. If that is more to your liking or family needs, check out our calendar for the best time to visit. But if the relaxed pace is what you seek, take some time, think about your options, and look over some of our itineraries that we have offered here.

Sunday Tours- If your visit includes Sunday, some activities are restricted, but the is still much to see and do. We explain some options here.
