While we list this particular tour package here on a "senior's package" page, our most popular one day package by far for any group includes spending some time exploring downtown Arthur, enjoying a meal in an Amish home, and taking a guided tour of the Amish countryside.

This package can be easily done in one day, door to door, from as far away as Chicago, or St. Louis.

Visiting the Arthur downtown shops while you wait for mealtime will be a treat for your group. Arthur is the main shopping area for the local Amish and especially on Saturdays, when the hitch racks are full. All within easy walking distance, several shops offer fine local wood products, fresh fudge, Amish cheese, specialty coffees, quilts, antiques, fresh baked goods and crafts. If there is time, we have an old fashioned soda fountain that your guests will enjoy and bring back many memories. Many groups have wished they had allowed more time to relax in our small downtown!

You will load up your group at meal time and head to a working Amish farm, where our host will have prepared a hearty, Amish style dinner. We are able to host meal groups up to 100, family style, in the great rooms of the Amish home. And be prepared to be stuffed. Amish style meals offer plenty to eat.

After the meal if your group is able or interested a tour of the Amish home or farm can be arranged. Otherwise after dinner, your guide will direct your driver around the Amish countryside and explain the customs and the culture of the Illinois Amish living in the Arthur area. Along the way you'll get to visit some Amish "country shops" and get a close up look at Amish life in East Central Illinois.

Usually you can be headed home by 3pm or so, or, if there is time, additional activities or even an evening meal can be planned.

Sunday Tours- If your visit includes Sunday, some activities are restricted, but the is still much to see and do. We explain some options here.
