Two Nights and Three Days
Amish Country and Lincoln Sites Tour

Sample itineraries are difficult to offer when we customize every visit to suit our clients travel schedule and interests in Illinois Amish Country. Following is just one combination and time schedule that we have used  on a two night visit re recently did for a client. Any of the activities in it can be incorporated into a custom visit for your group.

Day One:
9:30 a.m. Arrive in Tuscola at the Holiday Inn.
10 a.m. Explore the Amishland Red Barn.
12 a.m. Shop historic downtown Tuscola, and enjoy lunch in Flesor’s Candy Kitchen. They have a wonderful lunch menu, and melt in your mouth sweets.
2 p.m. Visit Tanger Outlet Mall, located in Tuscola.
4 p.m. Arrive at the Holiday Inn, and refresh.
6:30 p.m. Have dinner in Sullivan at Sister’s Tea Room.
8 p.m. Enjoy live equity theatre at The Little Theatre on the square in Sullivan.

Day Two:
8 a.m. Continental Breakfast at the Holiday Inn.
9:30 a.m. Visit the Harris Agricultural Museum in Atwood, Illinois. You will see vintage tractors, engines, also replicas of a 1920’s farm kitchen, grain elevator office, and a blacksmith shop.
10:30 a.m. Meet your step-on-guide in downtown Arthur. Tour the beautiful Amish countryside. Learn interesting facts about the Amish lifestyle and visit their unique cottage businesses.
12 p.m. Enjoy a large, home cooked meal at an Amish home outside of Arthur. After the meal take a tour of the Amish farm with your guide and Amish host and learn about Amish farm life.
1:45 p.m. Continue on the driving portion of the tour seeing more Amish homes and cottage businesses.
3p.m. Arrive back in downtown Arthur, the heart of Central Illinois Amish Country. Enjoy shopping at the downtown businesses.
5 p.m. Have dinner at Yoder’s Restaurant in Arthur or out at Rockome just east of town.

Day Three:
8:00 a.m. Continental Breakfast at the Holiday Inn.
9 a.m. Board your coach for a Lincoln experience.
10 p.m. Drive to Decatur to visit the Lincoln Trail and Homestead Park where the Lincoln family first settled in Illinois after moving from their farm in Southern Indiana.
11:30 p.m. Visit the Lincoln Presidential Library, his Law Offices, and Lincoln’s Home and the rest of historic downtown Springfield where Lincoln started.
4 p.m. Depart for your next destination or check in at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Springfield, Illinois.
